For the First Time in Lebanon : The Beirut Souks Chrsitmas Tree Downtown Beirut Will be Lit On Dec 1st 2012 in an Unique Energy Saving Process.
This event is organized by Bikeathon Association Lebanon, a non-governmental (NGO),
Non-profit organization.
In association with Solidere, the Green Party of Lebanon, the Green Mind Organisation, the LCF Lebanese Cycling Federation and Maison du Ski, the Bikeathon Association Lebanon cordially invites you to the lighting of the Beirut Souk Christimas Tree Saturday Dec 1st 2012(this saturday) at 6:00pm.
We look forward to your visit to our ongoing stand in Beirut Souks throughout this Holiday Season that will feature an non stop cycling activity that will continuously light a miniature Christmas tree.
Lighting the tree will take place in a very unique and energy saving process for the fist time in Lebanon using Bicycles generating energy to produce the currents that will light the Christmas Lights.
The event is in support of the Bikeathon that will take Place in Beirut on Sunday April 14th, 2013 under the theme of "Biking for Peace" aiming at
- Promoting cycling as a healthy answer for exercise filled with physical and emotional pleasures keeping green at top of mind.
- Creating awareness to alternative transportation methods that may contribute to solving the congested traffic problem.
- Forming likeminded pressure groups that will influence the policies and decision making in designing a friendly-cycling road environment instead of the hazardous one.
