Faraya

Faraya Mzaar Kfardebian or Faraya-Mzaar , also known as Ouyoun el Simaan or Aayoun Al Simane , is the most prominent ski area in Lebanon.

The area has around 40 downhill pistes ( trails) and 16 main lifts , 13 of them chairlifts, and skiing ranges between heights of 1310m at Faraya , 1850  to 2465m on the peak above MZAAR .From the top at Mzaar , there are views over the Bekaa valley and Mount Hermon while Beirut, 40 Km distant , and sometimes the shores of Cyprus can be seen when visibility is good .

Skiing in Lebann , and Faraya Mzaar in Particular , is no longer the well kept secret it was in the year past. An Excellenty operated ski resort with slopes of varying degrees of challenge, coupled with 'on the slopes ' hotels and with one being part of the world class InterContinental chain , are hard to keep secret from the skiers and snowboarders of the world.
