Social Media Exchange Conference

Social Media Exchange, a Beirut-based organization, that has helped introduce and train members of Lebanon's civil society in social and participatory media on the Internet throughout its six-month program will hosted its first networking luncheon on Thursday, November 6, at the Crowne Plaza, Hamra, Beirut.

A wide range of NGOs Baldati included and civil society organizations, including many who have participated in the training seminars, attended  the luncheon and participated in a roundtable session to discuss how social media can help bolster Lebanon's civil society organizations and their effectiveness.

The luncheon was also the setting for the premier screening of the short video "Linking Lebanon: Activists Experiment with Digital Media." The eight-minute video documents the development of digital activism in Lebanon as a tool for organizing, facilitating outreach, encouraging dialogue, and raising money. It also intends to set the stage for more experimentation with social media for social change.
