من الجيد بأن نرى بين هناك من يسمع ويطرح ويحاول إيجاد حلول لمشاكل المناطق التي يمر بها كل مواطن ونزاعات لا تؤدي إلا إلى إهمال وتأخير  وإضافة مشاكل وعوائق يومية للمواطنين.ومن هنا نشكر جمعية بلدتي آملاً بأن تكون المشكلة أدناه موضوع إهتمام والمساعدة على إيجاد طريقة لحلها..
مدخل بتغرين ،
بتغرين هي ضيعةٌ جبلية تقع في أعالي المتن الشمالي ويحيطها كل من الخنشارة والجوار ومرجبا وبسكنتا ..ومن لا يعرف بتغرين التي لم تخلى من الإهتمام والرعية إذ ننظر إلى المستوى والتقديمات والتحسينات على كافة الأصعدة فتعد من المناطق الجبلية  المتمدنة  ..أما ما يدهش هو عند وصولك إلى مدخل بتغرين من جهة الخنشارة والجوار تتفاجأ بضيق وبقايا نزول الطريق التي كانت ومازالت غير منجزة فالطريق تعرضت ألسنة الماضية إلى إنهيار مما أدى إلى إقفال المدخل وسبب باعاقة حركة مرور السيارات فهو بوابة الضيعة ويشهد الكثير من مرور السيارات والشاحنات والباصات التي تمر يومياً من هناك توجهاً إلى منازلهم أو  مبنى الضمان الإجتماعي أو إلى أي من مؤسسات والمحال التجارية ؛وخروجاً صوب اشغالهم.هذا المدخل الذي يشهد خلاف ويطرح علامات إستفهام عديدة إن من ناحية الجهة المسؤولة عن هذا التأخير في الإنجاز والتطبيق أو من جهة عدم تنفيذه بإنتظار دعم مالي أو إداري تقني.. فبحسب أقاويل أهالي البلدة فهذا من مسؤولية بلدية الخنشارة  والبلدية قد بدأت بتحسين الوضع ولكن المشكلة ما زالت موجودة والطريق بإتجاه واحد وما زال وضعها غير ثابت 
 

During a visit on a working mission to
the area of my roots in Akkar, I had the chance to talk to a priest and local
representative of Mimnae' village, father Jean Salloum. He related to me the
following conflict which I think is quiet a worrying prospect in terms of water
management & agricultural development in the area, and an interesting
challenge for this activity:

In
the pre-civil war era during late 60s and early 70s, the village
of Mimnae'
was prospering because of vitalized agricultural activities on which the
livelihood of the village community was ultimately dependant upon. At the onset
of the civil war, the village
of Fnaidik,
standing above Mimnae' at a higher elevation in the watershed, cut the water
resource which feeds Mimnae' springs. According to father Jean, it was for
sectarian and political reasons and the economic benefits gained by keeping the
resource all to themselves. This caused major shifts in cultivation practices
from cash crops to wheat, which declined more and more over the years.
Suffering from heavy migration, the village leaders are trying to currently
introduce some new alternative crops such as kiwi and carob which might
encourage villagers to return to their homes. Also a new water management
scheme is looking into providing more irrigation water from pumping all the way
from Bezbina village area way below Mimnae, up to a reservoir on top of
Mimnae'. Although I have only superficially studied the problem, pumping water
for irrigation over such a distance seems to be absurdly unsustainable. Also
innovative agricultural activities are still in the pilot phase and would
require intensive coordinated efforts and time for them to get integrated, if
successful. Father Jean, on behalf of the local community, is pleading for some
kind of help because it is at this point that villagers of Mimnae' are
considering to return, however they will probably refrain from returning if
there is simply nothing to sustain their lives and well being.
