Kibarouna Join effort with T.E.R.R.E Beit Shabab

Kibarouna and T.E.R.R.E Liban - Beit Shabab

Senior citizens of Kibarouna are now involved in a recycling project launched by members of T.E.R.R.E Liban - Beit Shabab. During a workshop held last Wednesday April 21st, at the monastery of Mar Youssef Bhorsaf,  senior citizens  learned about recycling and its effect on the environment. Later they eagerly committed themselves to take action and start sorting out their domestic garbage of plastic, glass, and paper.

Currently and on weekly basis, all Kibarouna members will dispose their sorted garbage in recycling bins provided by T.E.R.R.E Liban- Beit Shabab. All bins are stationed in the Monastery Yard.

Yesterday when I was talking to some elderly during a breakfast gathering held by Kibarouna, I asked  some elderly about their opinion regarding  the recycling initiative after one week of the workshop.

They shared with me that they are so happy to be part of this project. They added that recycling is a responsible act to protect the environment which is a central heritage of our country Lebanon. While having this conversation I saw an old lady collecting three plastic water bottles, she put them in a bag and I heard her say to a group:  “ This is the bag for plastic recycling, you can put your empty bottles here”.
