Check your faucet and pipe for leaks. A dripping
nozzle can waste 14 liters of water per day.
Limit your shower time to needed time; extra
time under shower costs 20 to 30 liters per minute.
Turn off water while brushing your teeth and
save 2 gallons of water. That’s up to 100 gallons a week for a family of 4.
Use your washing machine and dishwasher for full
load.
When washing dishes by hand, don’t let the water
open all the time. If your kitchen sink is double bowl, fill one basin with
wash water and the other with rinse water.
Wash your fruits and vegetables in a pan of
water instead of running water from the tap.
Consider low flow faucets and dual flush toilet
especially when buying new apartment.
Consider drip irrigation for your garden.
By doing the above every person can save around 70 liters
per day, 2000 liters per month, 255500 liters per year… and if a family of
5 persons do that…
